- ALBANIA: CRCA STARTS THE FIRST TIRANA CHILD RIGHTS ACADEMY

Tirana, 10 December 2007 - The Children's Human Rights Centre of Albania / Defence for Children International Albania, on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, opened officially today the first Tirana Child Rights Academy. The Academy which will continue during five-day period aims to strengthen the capacities of public officials and civil society representatives for the protection of children's rights in Albania.

The Tirana Child Rights Academy is part of the CRCA programme "The Rights of the Child a Democratic Right" funded by Olof Palme International Center and SIDA Sweden.

The lecturers of the Academy include a well-respected list of professors and academic researchers from Albania such as: Prof. Dr. Aurela Anastasi, Prof. Dr Mimoza Gjokutaj, Assistant Prof. Dr. Edlira Haxhiymeri, Assistant Prof. Dr. Arta Mandro, Elona Gjebrea (Phd Candidate), Altin Hazizaj (Phd Candidate), and representatives of UN Agencies from UNICEF, World Bank, UNIFEM, ILO/IPEC etc.

Participants of the first Tirana Child Rights Academy include representatives of the Albanian Government at national and local level, representatives of national NGO's and media outlets. The major issues that the lecturers will cover Academy will cover during five days are: the concept of children's rights, international standards for children, child labour and exploitation,
children in conflict with the law, child abuse and child participation. Several workshops and debates among participants are previewed to take place during the Academy.

-CRCA HAP NE TIRANE AKADEMINE E PARË PËR TË DREJTAT E FËMIJËVE NË SHQIPËRI

Tirane 10 Dhjetor 2007 - Qëndra për Mbrojtjen e të Drejtave të Fëmijëve në Shqipëri – CRCA / Defence for Children International Shqipëri, me rastin e Ditës Ndërkombëtare të të Drejtave të Njeriut, hap zyrtarisht në datë 10 Dhjetor 2007 punimet e AKADEMISE SE PARË PËR TË DREJTAT E FËMIJËVE NË SHQIPËRI. Akademia do të zgjasë për 5 ditë dhe ka si qëllim që të forcojë kapacitetet e zyrtarëve publike dhe të shoqërisë civile në mbrojtje të të drejtave të fëmijëve në Shqipëri.

Akademia e Parë për të Drejtat e Fëmijëve në Shqipëri është pjesë e programit të CRCA me titull “Të Drejtat e Fëmijëve një e Drejtë Demokratike” dhe financohet nga Olof Palme International Center dhe SIDA, Suedi.

Punimet e akademisë do të drejtohen nga njw Skuadwr Lektorësh, e cila përbëhet nga emra të njohur në fushën akademike si: Prof. Dr. Aurela Anastasi, Prof. Dr Mimoza Gjokutaj, Prof Ass. Dr. Edlira Haxhiymeri, Prof Ass. Dr. Arta Mandro, kandidat Dr. Elona Gjebrea, kandidat Dr. Altin Hazizaj, si dhe përfaqësues të agjensive të OKB-së në Shqipëri: UNICEF, Banka Boterore, UNIFEM, ILO/IPEC etj.

Pjesmarrësit në Akademinë për të Drejtat e Fëmijëve në Shqipëri janë përfaqësues të institucioneve qeveritare të të gjitha niveleve, përfaqësues të shoqërisë civile dhe përfaqësues të medias.

Çështjet kryesore që do të trajtohen ne Akademinë e Parë për të Drejtat e Fëmjëve në Shqipëri janë: Të Drejtat e Fëmijëve në Kuadër të të Drejtave të Njeriut, Standartet ndërkombëtare për të Drejtat e Fëmijëve, puna dhe shfrytëzimi i fëmijëve, fëmijët në konflikt me ligjin, abuzimi i fëmijëve si dhe pjesmarja e fëmijëve në vendimarrje. Këto tema do të trajtohen nëpërmjet dhënies së informacionit, punës në grup, shkëmbimit të eksperiencave si dhe ëorkshopeve të ndryshme.
